Bereavement payments
- Bereavement payments are a tax-free lump sum of £2,000 (if the deceased was
under 65), accessible to individuals whose spouse or civil partner has passed
away. - Eligibility criteria include the deceased's National Insurance contributions or work-related death under certain circumstances.
- Not available in cases of divorce, informal cohabitation, or incarceration.
